Part-Time Van Driver

About the Role

The Part-Time Van Driver is a vital member of the Operations Team, responsible for designing and implementing efficient day-to-day systems and routines that contribute to a joyful school culture and high levels of learning, instruction, and organizational stewardship. The primary responsibility is to safely transport students to and from school. This is a part-time position with opportunities for growth and additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school via the McAllen Van Route
• Take daily bus attendance
• Build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and parents
• Communicate behavior challenges to manager/school leader
• Support arrival and dismissal processes
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Belief in the Brillante Academy mission, model, and values
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience working in a school and/or with elementary-aged students strongly preferred
• Team player with strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
• Able to work the bus schedule (approximately Monday - Friday, 6:00–8:00 AM and 3:15–5:30 PM)

About Brillante Academy

Brillante Academy Public Charter School opened in August 2023 and will serve over 530 students from Pre-K3 through 4th grade in the Rio Grande Valley’s Mission area. The school will grow one grade level per year until 8th grade and plans to expand its network across Texas to serve over 7,000 students in the next decade.

Brillante Academy is a two-way, dual-language school that empowers scholars and the community through a blend of personalized learning, co-teaching, and a classical education approach. The school focuses on the whole child, instilling core values (courage, justice, wisdom, and self-control) while maintaining high academic standards. Scholars become bilingual and biliterate, prepared for excellence in high school, college, and beyond.

The Charter Management Organization (CMO) for Brillante Academy is Seton Education Partners, a Catholicly inspired organization that also manages the Seton Teaching Fellows missionary program and El Camino, an optional after-school Catholic faith formation program. Seton is also the CMO for the Brilla Schools Network in Bronx, NY.
