About the Role

The Universal Banker-Float is part of the Retail Branch team, delivering face-to-face client service to expand and strengthen relationships while processing financial transactions with accuracy. This role educates clients about Ascend Bank’s sales and service options, including digital channels and debit card reward programs, and matches banking solutions to client needs. The position requires travel between branch locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local businesses, and community organizations through in-person and planned appointments.
  • Open new accounts, including checking, savings, and other deposit accounts.
  • Assist with account maintenance, such as updates, closures, and changes.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating to Branch Management when applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement risk management practices to safeguard the bank’s assets and reputation.
  • Follow internal controls and audit procedures to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and prevent fraud.
  • Contribute to the overall operational efficiency and success of the branch.
  • Use CRM platforms to capture client interactions, creating opportunities for relationship building and process improvement.
  • Work effectively with branch staff, management, and other departments to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Participate in branch meetings and training sessions to stay informed about new products, services, and operational updates.
  • Lead daily jumpstarts with staff, planning relevant topics for discussion.
  • Demonstrate digital literacy, including proficiency with bank products, awareness of new technology, and ability to teach and communicate digital skills.

Requirements

  • One to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High school education or GED.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is desirable.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

Pay
