Part Time Triage Registered Nurse

About the role

Part-time triage role for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Bohemia, NY. Shifts available as 2×10-hour shifts or 3×8.5-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough telephonic symptom assessment for patients practice-wide
• Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to determine appropriate level of care and urgency while providing clinical decision-making within scope of practice
• Deliver patient education regarding symptom management, treatment side effects, medication guidance and support
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and ancillary staff as needed
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, utilizing appropriate focused assessment documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
• Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and practice policies
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and efficiency in high-volume call environments
• Support continuity of care by proactively identifying patient needs and potential barriers to treatment adherence
• Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management team, consistent with organizational needs and departmental objectives

Requirements

• Valid New York State RN License
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times

Pay

Salary starting at $48 per hour
