Part-Time Tram Driver

About the role

The Part-Time Tram Driver will provide safe, reliable, and courteous transportation throughout IMG Academy's 400-acre campus for student-athletes, families, staff, guests, and visitors. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience while ensuring passenger safety, maintaining vehicle readiness, and complying with all company policies and applicable transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trams and other assigned passenger vehicles in accordance with IMG Academy policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Transport student-athletes, staff, parents, guests, and visitors throughout campus in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles while ensuring a safe and orderly loading process.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service by answering questions and sharing information about IMG Academy, campus locations, events, and services.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Complete required documentation, including vehicle inspection reports, driver logs, trip records, and incident reports.
• Follow established procedures for vehicle operation, passenger safety, emergency response, and accident reporting.
• Comply with all applicable state and federal transportation regulations and company safety policies.
• Utilize communication and navigation equipment, including two-way radios, cell phones, and GPS devices.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior.
• Build positive, professional relationships with student-athletes, families, guests, visitors, and team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Previous experience operating trams, passenger shuttles, vans, or similar transportation vehicles preferred.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices and applicable state and federal transportation regulations.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and make sound decisions in fast-paced or emergency situations.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete required documentation accurately.
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to safety.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

Physical demands and work environment

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle and frequently enter and exit the tram throughout the workday.
• Ability to walk and move throughout IMG Academy's 400-acre campus, including athletic fields, gyms, and other facilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
