Part-Time Test Proctor - General Interest Submission

The position is responsible for the administration and documentation of certifications/assessments and works closely with the Testing Services Manager to maintain currency in skills and procedures.

About the role

  • Provide general college information about services.
  • Administer certification and academic exams through the Center.
  • Schedule appointments for exams including determining candidate eligibility and exam availability.
  • Keep records for all certifications conducted in the Center.
  • Input data when necessary.
  • Participate in training as necessary to stay abreast of appropriate technical areas.
  • Hand or computer score certification exams.
  • Absorb and respect diversity of people, styles, and views.
  • Promote same as an integral part of one’s work.
  • Celebrate and comply with established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with interpreting placement assessment results or other exam results as needed.
  • Learn software/hardware needed to administer the various certifications/assessments, schedule appointments, document results and support the efforts of the Assessment Center according to established protocol.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
  • Participate in vendor mandatory training and complete proctor exams as determined by vendor contracts.
  • Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Requirements

  • A working knowledge of computers is essential.
  • Excellent word processing and spreadsheet computing skills are required.
  • Must exhibit excellent interpersonal communication, telephone, confidentiality, and customer service skills.
  • Job requires flexibility and the ability to multitask.
  • Willingness to travel to Hamilton County high schools once a year if a school requests our presence to proctor a Certified Nursing Associate exam.
  • Most schools visit our campus to test.
  • Willingness and patience to answer questions from fellow proctors and to assist in launching and concluding exams.
  • Requires the ability to hear, talk, see, read and write on a constant basis.
  • Constant sitting, standing and walking within the office area.
  • Infrequent lifting and bending.
  • Requires the ability to interpret and understand complex assessment instructions, to use problem solving techniques as they arise and to reason to make decisions.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Two years Assessment Center experience preferred.
