As a Teller Trainee at Rockland Trust, you are at the heart of our branches and the frontline of customer service, proactively exploring customer needs and offering personalized advice that serves to develop and maintain relationships. Each day, you create a memorable experience for customers whilst contributing to the fulfillment of branch and company goals in a meaningful way. With a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine desire to work with customers in a caring and empathetic way, you are responsible for providing efficient, effective, and courteous customer service while performing a variety of transactions. What You’ll Do

  • Make the first impression to our customers as they enter the branch, warmly greeting them and guiding them to the colleague who can best support their needs.
  • Engage in constant customer support, exhibiting efficient, effective, and courteous customer service in person and via telephone.
  • Serve customers by supplying them with information on the Rockland Trust banking products best suited to their individual needs.
  • Ensure that customers feel cared for as you perform duties that require a high level of accuracy, such as processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash checking, and other financial transactions.
  • Make decisions alongside immediate supervisor, which may become more extensive as position gains in knowledge and experience.
  • Work closely with our training team and your branch team to learn about these responsibilities, and to complete Rockland Trust’s Teller Training.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable using technology, including computers, to facilitate the achievement of business goals.
  • Sales and service-oriented personality.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Positive approach to interactions with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work within normal office requirements, with long periods of standing and continuous customer support.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to work within a flexible work week, which may include weekends, as customer needs dictate.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required onboarding, job-specific, compliance, regulatory, operational, and continuing education training programs within established timeframes.

Preferred Skills/Experience

Candidates should have 1–2 years prior teller experience or cash handling/customer service skills.
