About the Role
The Member Service Representative (MSR) is based in a branch and delivers consistently exceptional service to members through face-to-face interactions. You will assist members with a variety of financial transactions and address their concerns while identifying opportunities to cross-sell services and products.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely and courteous service to all branch members, assisting with financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and processing negotiable instruments.
- Process member transactions efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner, including servicing accounts, closing accounts, or completing related documentation.
- Perform file maintenance tasks such as processing address changes, check orders, and ordering ATM cards.
- Support unit sales goals by identifying cross-selling opportunities for Credit Union products and services and referring members to appropriate business partners.
- Maintain cash drawer within assigned limits and policy guidelines, balance daily work, and assist with branch balancing procedures.
- Develop thorough knowledge of all Credit Union products and services, including deposit and loan products, digital and self-service opportunities.
- Respond to member inquiries accurately and promptly via telephone, mail, email, or internal referrals.
- Develop, expand, and retain member relationships to increase satisfaction.
- Adhere to Branch Service Level Standards, SLAs, and Corporate initiatives.
- Actively participate in marketing campaigns, promotions, sales and referral programs, contests, telemarketing, and meetings.
- Perform operational activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations (e.g., Regulation CC, Bank Secrecy Act), and Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Participate in assigned staff development programs to support continuous improvement in sales, service, quality, and teamwork.
- Consistently report to work on time as scheduled and complete all required trainings and courses (e.g., BAI trainings).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of previous customer service, sales, and cash handling experience in retail, banking, or food service.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Background in sales and new accounts is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Working Conditions
