Part-Time Teller (Bilingual Preferred)

About the role

Responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions for members in person and through the mail, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances. Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner while ensuring efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions.

Responsibilities

• Receives share deposits and loan payments.
• Processes cash advances, cashiers' checks, money orders, gift cards, and discount tickets.
• Disburses cash or check share withdrawals and processes transfers.
• Verifies transactions, monitors deposit amounts, and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability.
• Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.
• Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals; investigates and resolves out-of-balance conditions.
• Maintains privacy of member account information and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation.
• Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services.
• Assists area personnel as required and maintains effective coordination with management.
• Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and significant problems or concerns.
• Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly; attends meetings as required.
• Performs drive-up service and night drop functions as assigned.
• Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
• Performs related clerical duties as required.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least six months of cash handling experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Teller operations and procedures.
• Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.

• Good communication and math skills.
• Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
• Ability to operate related computer applications, adding machine, copy machine, coin and money counting machines, and telephone.
• Good typing skills.
