Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, efficient, and courte service to members while processing transactions and answering questions.
- Complete transactions and related documentation for deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, gift cards, and fund transfers.
- Present the credit union in a professional and positive image to new or prospective members, employees, and the local community.
- Greet and welcome members courteously, professionally, and timely, ensuring prompt, accurate, and efficient transactions.
- Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, examine endorsements, and enter deposits into computer records.
- Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals after verifying signatures and member balances.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all credit union products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations, including robbery procedures.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift, research and resolve discrepancies, and report issues to the supervisor.
- Count, check, and package coins and currency; handle night depository bags according to procedures.
- Perform routine member transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan and credit card payments, transfers, cashier’s checks, gift cards, and check cashing.
- Answer Active Teller calls and perform transactions as the Live Teller for ITMs.
- Provide members with receipts, account status (balances, loan payoffs, hold status, transaction history), and assist with statement problems and share draft reconciliation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier or teller experience is required; customer/member service experience is preferred.
- Ability to operate Windows-based computer programs.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing locations and hours, work under time restrictions, and collaborate in limited spaces.
