About the Role
A Part-Time Teller at ServisFirst delivers quality customer service by efficiently handling routine over-the-counter transactions and recognizing sales opportunities during interactions.
Responsibilities
- Process deposits by receiving checks and cash, verifying amounts, examining endorsements, and requesting identification when required.
- Cash checks and pay out funds after verifying signatures and account availability.
- Provide transaction receipts (e.g., deposit slips) based on system-entered information.
- Cross-sell the Bank’s products and services, referring clients to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Count and balance currency, coins, and checks daily to ensure accuracy.
- Balance cash drawer daily and verify cash returned to the vault.
- Open, verify, count, and balance funds from night depositories.
- Assist customers via phone or in person with account inquiries, directing calls to proper personnel when needed.
- Provide guidance and maintenance for accounts, including address changes, balance verification, and miscellaneous charges.
- Sell coins to the vault while adhering to Bank policies and procedures.
- Accept loan and installment payments from clients.
- Identify and report suspicious transactions or potential security threats.
- Operate computer terminals or PCs to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority.
- Familiarize yourself with and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of related experience, particularly in cash handling and customer interaction.
- Excellent customer service skills, demonstrated through prior experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting, including reviewing numerical information and balancing.
- Ability to accurately count and handle cash.
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
- Sustained standing and sitting.
- Frequent use of a PC, including typing or sustained attention to a monitor.
- Occasional lifting of office files or equipment up to 20 lbs.
- Normal office environment with comfortable internal temperatures and low-level noise.
