Part-time Teller

Responsibilities

• Provide paying and receiving functions for members in person and through the mail, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances.
• Balance daily transactions and verify cash totals; investigate and resolve out‑of‑balance conditions.
• Actively cross‑sell credit union products and services.
• Serve members promptly and professionally, representing the credit union courteously.
• Receive share deposits and loan payments; disburse cash or check share withdrawals.
• Process cash advances, cashiers' checks, money orders, gift cards, discount tickets, and transfers.
• Verify transactions and monitor deposit amounts, examining documents for endorsement and negotiability.
• Detect and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain the credit union’s professional reputation and protect member account privacy.
• Establish and maintain effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management; assist area personnel as required.
• Keep supervisor informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns.
• Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly; attend meetings as required.
• Perform drive‑up service and night‑drop functions as assigned.
• Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well maintained; perform related clerical duties as required.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent.

Required Knowledge

• Knowledge of teller operations and procedures.
• Basic understanding of credit union operations.

Experience

At least six months cash handling experience.

Skills

• Good communication skills.
• Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment, including adding machine, copy machine, coin and money counting machines, and telephone.
• Good typing skills.
