About the role
Provides instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County’s curriculum
- Exhibits knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment
- Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership
- Fulfills responsibilities when absent
- Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program
- Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
- Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction
- Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
- Participate in required additional training related to the Dual Immersion Model
Requirements
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certification in applicable content field (e.g. Early Childhood for Elementary required)
- Must have passed the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Written Proficiency Test (WPT) at Advanced Level proficiency in Target language other than English
- Teacher for English portion of day must hold ESOL certification/endorsement for a Dual Immersion model used as a delivery model for ESOL
Qualifications
- 0-1 year classroom experience required

- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain 100% of instruction in the Target-language using Comprehensible Input (CI)
