Position Summary
Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a creative, compassionate, and dedicated Part-Time Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and academic support for students who are temporarily assigned outside of the traditional classroom. This position is 16 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with state standards and individual student needs.
- Provide interdisciplinary academic support by assisting students with assignments from all core content areas.
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies and instructional technology to promote engagement, critical thinking, and academic growth.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students.
- Establish a structured, respectful, and supportive learning environment that promotes accountability, reflection, and academic success.
- Serve as a calm, positive, and consistent adult presence for students experiencing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Foster positive relationships while maintaining high expectations for student behavior and academic engagement.
- Support students in successfully transitioning back to their regular classroom setting.
- Monitor student progress, assignment completion, and academic participation.
- Provide constructive feedback that encourages growth and supports student achievement.
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, behavior, academic progress, and interventions.
- Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff to ensure instructional continuity and student success.
- Communicate with parents and guardians, when appropriate, regarding student progress, academic performance, and strategies for continued success.
- Participate in school meetings, professional learning communities, and collaborative planning opportunities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in English Language Arts instruction, classroom management, restorative practices, and student engagement.
- Support the school's mission, vision, and positive school culture through active participation in school initiatives and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts or a related content area preferred.
- Strong background in English Language Arts instruction.
- Ability to provide academic support across multiple content areas.
- Experience working with students demonstrating diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs preferred.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and effective instructional practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused in challenging situations.
