About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Tax Preparer to assist clients with their federal and state tax filings during the busy tax season. This role offers flexible hours, primarily part-time, with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state individual and business tax returns
• Work closely with clients to understand their financial situations and needs
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax returns
• Follow up with clients to address any questions or concerns
• Adhere to tax laws and regulations

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation preferred
• Proficiency in preparing entry-level U.S. federal and state individual and business tax returns
• College degree or equivalent education
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with tax software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and follow training diligently

Nice to have

• Previous experience working onsite in a tax office setting
• Knowledge of additional tax accounting software
• Bilingual abilities are a plus

Preferred Education And Experience

• College degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• At least 2 years of hands-on tax preparation experience

Other Requirements

• This is a primarily onsite position requiring 20-40 hours per week, most likely leaning toward part-time during peak periods
• Reliable transportation to work onsite
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
