Part Time Substitute Educator - Santa Clara School District

Program Hours

Monday - Friday 1pm - 6pm.
Hours will vary slightly depending on school location.

Daily Program Meetings

• Review goals and updates
• Share ideas
• Discuss professional progress
• Encourage collaboration
• Team accountability

Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities

• Prepare activities and curriculum for the day
• Ensure activities align with program’s objectives
• Lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum
• Make sure activities are both educational and enjoyable for all ages

Maintain a Safe and Nurturing Environment

• Maintain a safe environment
• Ensure children are enjoying themselves while meeting program goals
• Model positive guidance and effective classroom management
• Monitor the environment
• Address potential hazards
• Follow all safety protocols
• Document attendance, incidents, and other observations

Communication

• Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Works well in a team environment
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age preferred
• Able to lift 25lbs
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed

California Requirements

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements
• First Aid and CPR-in-person
• Cleared tuberculosis test and health screening
• Authorized to work in the US
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Fingerprint LiveScan background check cleared
