About The Role
Zoox is building a full-stack autonomous mobility solution from the ground up. Within our Autonomy Software organization, we are expanding our self-driving capabilities to new geofences—pushing our vehicles into more complex and diverse real-world environments. We are seeking a Software Engineer Co-Op to support this expansion effort.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and testing efforts to improve driving performance across new geofences, contributing directly to the reliability and safety of our AV stack.
- Aid in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on autonomous driving data to surface insights that drive engineering decisions.
- Help analyze and test autonomy software, identifying failure modes and supporting root cause investigations.
- Contribute to clear, accurate technical documentation to support team knowledge sharing and process consistency.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in C++, with familiarity with software development processes and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Comfortable working across teams and communicating technical findings clearly to peers and leads.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-impact engineering environment.
Pay
$30 per hour. This is a contract position and employment for this position will be through a vendor contracted with Zoox. The hourly pay range is posted and you will be eligible for a benefits package as offered by the vendor.
