Part Time Store Associate

Part-time role up to 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, paid at $16/hour.

About the role

Create optimum service for customers while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized lumber yard. Perform duties as assigned by store management to support daily store operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and answer phone calls
• Load and unload lumber and building supplies
• Build loads for delivery and create material lists
• Stock product and maintain lumber-yard cleanliness and organization
• Perform other sales-related activities

Work environment

• Indoors and outdoors, near moving mechanical parts and in high or precarious places
• Exposure to vibrations, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and weather conditions (rain, humidity, extreme heat, extreme cold)

Physical demands

• Frequent standing, walking, use of hands, reaching, talking, listening, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, climbing, balancing, and crawling
• Lifting up to 80 pounds
• Rarely sitting

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information one-on-one
• Experience with inventory and order-processing software
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills

Preferred education and experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Related experience and/or training
