About the role

As a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will evaluate and treat residents with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. You will develop personalized therapy plans, provide interventions, educate residents, families, and staff, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve residents' quality of life and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to diagnose speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing issues.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver therapy techniques, exercises, and communication strategies.
  • Educate stakeholders on communication and swallowing management.
  • Monitor progress, adjust plans, and document outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation per regulatory and facility standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid SLP license in the relevant state.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Experience in skilled nursing or rehab settings is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and a resident-centered approach.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and documentation.
  • Flexibility for PRN scheduling.
