Part-Time Sign-Street Lighting Inspector & Auditor

About the role

The City of Midwest City is hiring a Part‑Time Sign‑Street Lighting Inspector & Auditor in the Street Department. The position involves inspecting street and road lighting, maintaining lighting databases, conducting early‑morning or late‑evening audits, communicating with the electric utility, and assisting with record‑keeping and clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and audits street lighting databases.
• Conducts early morning or late evening (non‑daylight hours) driving audits of street lighting conditions.
• Communicates regularly with the electric utility (OG&E) to report and track outages and repairs.
• May be asked to evaluate night conditions of street signs and pavement markings.
• Prepares basic reports as required.
• Operates a motor vehicle on a regular basis.
• Assists with record keeping, such as work orders, plot map marking, data entry for sign inventory/management, updating street lighting data, and other miscellaneous clerical duties.
• Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Specialized schooling and/or on‑the‑job training in a specific skill area (e.g., data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc.).
• No certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience building and interpreting spreadsheets.
• Map reading and understanding electronic mapping data.

Pay

Starting pay: $15.3490 per hour. No benefits are offered.
