Essential Tasks
- Aids and directs witnesses and the general public to and from court.
- Aids court officers in observing conduct and behavior of individuals and reporting any suspicious activity.
- Maintains court holding cells and transports inmates safely; may escort individuals throughout the judicial building.
- Patrols court facilities and grounds according to the Judicial Building Security Plan.
- Applies restraint devices on inmates as necessary.
- Operates various security equipment including a portable radio, CCTV, hand wand metal scanning device, and walk-thru metal scanning/X-ray devices.
- Aids and guards jurors during trial terms.
- Assists with duplicating court documents as needed.
- Assists presiding judges with any needs directed by the courts.
- Assists with booking documents and court orders requiring signatures.
- Ensures the condition and status of all duress alarms are tested monthly.
Minimum Qualification
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in security, customer service, clerical, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Supplemental Information
- Physical Demands: Sedentary work involving walking or standing some of the time, and exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

- Special Certifications and Licenses: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
