Part-Time Service Clerk

About the role

This role is responsible for providing highly satisfactory service and assistance to guests: bagging groceries, providing carry-out service to vehicles, retrieving carts from the parking area, performing bottle-return tasks and janitorial duties as needed. The shift must contribute to the financial best interests of the store. All other assigned duties must be completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Use proper bagging supplies and techniques when handling guests’ purchases.
• Empty bottle bins, clean bottle machines, and maintain the bottle-return area.
• Collect, return, clean, and organize shopping carts; load groceries into customers’ vehicles.
• Familiarity with product locations throughout the store.
• Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
• Perform cleaning duties and other assigned tasks promptly.
• Follow all PPE, Safety, Food Safety, and Cleaning Expectations.
• Adhere to Guest Experience Guidelines.
• Work independently and may be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer-experience needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.

Physical Requirements

• May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must stand and walk for extended periods; may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Works in a typical retail-store environment with varied temperatures and is exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
