Part Time Security Officer Weekend Days + Weekend Differential

About the role

Part-time Security Officer position with weekend differential pay. Shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Perform all security-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor and keep them informed of unusual activities and events.
• Acknowledge and respond to alarms, determine the source, and provide proper assistance.
• Utilize and maintain all issued equipment (including radio equipment) in compliance with laws and department policies.
• Provide initial direction and support in emergency situations, perform facility lockdowns, and screen visitors/employees after hours.
• Document all crimes, incidents, and safety-related irregularities per department policy.
• Assess situations with consideration for the age of individuals involved; gather information on incidents (e.g., thefts, accidents) and complete documents accurately.
• Intervene in physical/verbal disputes using de-escalation techniques and manage aggressive behavior per authorized training.
• Administer initial first aid as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid Driver’s License (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification (preferred).
• 40-hour Security Officer training.
• Hazmat training.

Skills

• Ability to read, comprehend, and write clearly for legal reports and narratives.
• Proficiency in interpreting safety rules, penal codes, vehicular codes, radio codes, and policies.
• Strong active listening and communication skills.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, and communication devices safely.
• Computer literacy with basic hospital/security applications and information management systems.
• Critical thinking and ability to prioritize quickly in high-stress environments.
• Knowledge of Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Understanding of Emergency Management principles.
• Ability to recognize faces and maintain confidentiality.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel).

Pay

$17.40 – $27.84 per hour.
