Part Time Security Officer Sat/Sun 7am-7pm New Arlington, VA

About the Role

The Security Officer for ParkX Management ensures that the facility is run smoothly, safely, cleanly, and provides a positive experience for residents, tenants, and guests.

Responsibilities

• Complete hourly patrol route of the property using the security system
• Access control for guests, tenants, and vendors
• Ensure no property is being damaged
• Conduct routine foot patrols in and around the building
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Observation and reporting of safety concerns
• Issue banning notices to rule violators and maintain a file for ban notices; notify management when necessary
• Maintain the appearance of the two plaza kiosks
• Enforce the “no dogs on the plaza” policy
• Keep updated information (e.g., Kiss N Ride, contact phone numbers, rules of conduct) and communicate to guests as needed
• Report any unknown work occurring at the property to management
• Notify Park X, commercial property management, and residential property management immediately if anyone parks illegally on the plaza
• Communicate to guests that fire access areas must remain accessible for fire trucks and ambulances
• Close loading dock doors as needed
• Report any concerns to management
• Assist the marketing team before, during, and after events (Reston and Loudoun Station)
• Manage the valet; ensure cars are not parked on the plaza or down ramp (Reston Station)
• For special events, ensure the plaza marketing plan is followed (Reston Station)
• Manage traffic coming onto the plaza and keep it moving (Reston Station)

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• DCJS Certification or ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer-service related field
• Valid driver’s license without major violations
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends, as needed
• Outgoing personality with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people and build/maintain strong relationships

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and/or reach

• Work under variable temperature conditions (extreme heat or cold), noise levels, outdoors/indoors
• Exposure to fumes, hazards, dust, mites, chemicals, and bio-hazards

Pay

The wage range for this position is $18 - $19 USD per hour in Virginia. Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. You may also be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
