Part Time Security Officer - Library

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a public library location in Marysville, WA, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to concerns with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to library patrons, visitors, and staff while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout library facilities, public areas, parking areas, and surrounding property to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Monitor access points and public spaces, assist with maintaining orderly environments, and report security-related incidents according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
