Part-Time Seasonal Power Equipment Operator, 2nd Shift (Miami, FL) - $18.00 per hour

About the role

Join us and help us create lifelong readers! We are seeking a Warehouse Associate – Part Time Seasonal 2nd Shift. Hours of availability are Monday through Friday, 2pm-6pm, with an hourly rate of $18.00 + $1.50 differential (beginning at 2pm).

Responsibilities

• Operate battery-operated and/or gas-powered equipment, such as forklifts, stock pickers, and counterbalanced trucks, to transport product within the facility.
• Follow all power equipment rules and regulations, including OSHA policies, and use personal protective safety equipment as required.
• Demonstrate proficiency in scanner functions, including cycle-counts, replenishment, and inventory put away.
• Ensure accurate inventory movement and maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Inspect and perform equipment maintenance as required, and report any unsafe conditions to management.
• Handle merchandise with care to avoid damage, and participate in physical inventory and customer appreciation events.
• Meet minimum production, accuracy, and quality standards, and assist with tasks such as processing returned book fairs and picking/packing customer reorders.
• Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, and handling heavy objects, and complete labor data collection cards accurately and timely.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and a courteous relationship with coworkers and customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
• Must be trained and licensed to operate power equipment, with at least 1 year of experience for non-internal promotions.
• Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency and strong team player skills.
• Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read documents in English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include standing, reaching, squatting, bending, and kneeling, as well as tolerating work in a non-air conditioned environment. Must be able to successfully complete training and become certified to operate powered industrial equipment, and maintain certification. Must also be able to correctly wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.

Pay

Hourly rate of $18.00 + $1.50 differential (beginning at 2pm).

Schedule

Part-time, seasonal, 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 2pm-6pm.
