About the Role

The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management.

Responsibilities

  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
  • Achieve personal sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Provide legendary service in key areas: Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
  • Assist Guests with trying on or fitting merchandise.
  • Check out and bag purchases, and prepare merchandise for alterations.
  • Handle exchanges and returns, turning them into showmanship opportunities.
  • Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise.
  • Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
  • Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards.
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimum merchandise turn.
  • Stay current on product range and work with Teammates and Guests to identify product improvements.
  • Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed.
  • Open and close cash registers, handle transactions, and balance cash drawers.
  • Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, following Loss Prevention guidelines.
  • Perform merchandising tasks, such as handling freight, re-merchandising, and preparing displays.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store.
  • Communicate policy violations and concerns to Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources.
  • Fulfill mission statement by performing duties with high customer service and positive team spirit.

Recruiting and Training

  • Consistently recognize recruiting opportunities through referrals and recommendations.
  • Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to create a positive floor culture.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience or training required.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 30lbs throughout the store and backroom.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly works in a retail store with a moderate noise level.
