About the Role
The Associate Lead supports management in general store operations to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. This role performs various sales and register transactions while supervising associates in sales, inventory, and customer service tasks.
Responsibilities
- Promote customer service by ensuring associates greet and assist customers; respond to inquiries and complaints professionally and timely.
- Perform basic operations activities, including cash handling, price changes, merchandise handling, and opening/closing duties.
- Review time sheets and other payroll documentation for accuracy and submit as appropriate.
- Monitor associate sales activities and productivity; acknowledge and communicate performance to associates; motivate and train associates.
- Maintain awareness of customers to increase service levels and reduce security risks; stay current on operational policies regarding payments, exchanges, and security practices.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions; present and display merchandise according to standards.
- Support and administer receipt and dispatch of inventory and supplies according to company policy.
- Supervise associates in sales, inventory receipt, cash reconciliation, and customer services.
- Prepare weekly schedules to ensure proper floor coverage within fiscal guidelines.
- Model sales expectations by utilizing various techniques and communicating product knowledge to customers; recommend merchandise based on customer needs.
- Build and maintain a solid customer following through clienteling and wardrobing.
- Maintain standards in merchandise handling, presentation, loss prevention, and other duties as directed by management.
- Participate in and facilitate visual directives, including monthly store sets and merchandise replenishment.
- Assist in the development of store associates; interpret Key Performance Indicator reports and deliver coaching as needed; provide feedback to the Store Manager for performance appraisals.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Minimum 2 years of prior retail or sales management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Able to travel to stores throughout the district.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
- Ability to communicate with customers, stand and maneuver on the sales floor and stockroom, operate a register, lift and carry 50 pounds, handle/fold merchandise, climb, reach, push, and pull.
- Regular attendance is essential to ensure adequate coverage to meet company objectives.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
The wage range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00 per hour. Successful candidates’ wage rates will be determined based on individual qualifications.
