About the Role

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you are passionate about providing the best shoe store experience for every customer. You create a welcoming environment and in-store culture where customers feel valued and loyal to the store, brands, and company. Responsibilities

  • Ace retail operations by ensuring daily store tasks (pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory) are executed efficiently, keeping the store clean, organized, and shoppable.
  • Champion the Famous culture by embodying behaviors that drive customer connection, providing stellar customer engagement, and delivering top-notch experiences.
  • Drive sales with purpose and urgency, review store performance, and communicate clearly and timely with the team to achieve goals.
  • Act with integrity by adhering to company policies, seeking feedback, and focusing on professional development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, embracing diversity and supporting teammates through training and development.
  • Assist customers as a "shoe sleuth," making recommendations and ensuring they leave with the perfect fit and the "Famous Feeling."
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs, including overtime hours when required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Able to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
  • Demonstrates positive communication with store associates at all levels.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
  • Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
  • Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
