Part Time Retail Pharmacist

About the role

Acts as a pharmacist at the retail pharmacy, delivering accurate, safe, and efficient medication services. Responsible for interpreting prescriptions, evaluating drug interactions, providing counseling, and ensuring proper medication dispensing. Delegates tasks to pharmacy technicians and supervises pharmacy operations in accordance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret prescriptions, assess for drug interactions, and perform drug utilization reviews.
• Process prescriptions received via telephone or in person, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Input patient, demographic, and insurance data to update medication profiles and facilitate payment.
• Provide counseling to physicians, patients, and customers to promote medication adherence and understanding.
• Resolve routine prescribing issues, suggest formulary substitutions, and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Oversee pharmacy activities, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Engage in medication compounding, including sterile preparations and specialized medications.
• Assist in inventory management and participate in operational improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required. Strong knowledge of pharmacy practices, drug interactions, and regulatory standards. Ability to work in a clinical environment and collaborate with healthcare teams.
