Part-Time Retail Associate

About the role

The Retail Associate contributes to total store results for the Houston Rockets Team shop. The focus of this role is to provide a complete shopping experience for customers, involving product knowledge and environmental involvement. Responsibilities include selling assigned retail products and handling cash in a positive and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the One Team philosophy of Passion, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Teamwork
• Maintain and control merchandise inventory
• Perform store openings, operating, and closing duties
• General upkeep of merchandise and fixtures
• Perform physical inventories on a regular basis
• Execute all forms of payment and operate point-of-sale register for all transactions
• Set up and take down retail locations during events
• Provide customer service during all transactions, both on the floor and at the POS
• Welcome customers by greeting them and assisting with their needs
• Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters, and suggest items
• Advise customers by providing information on products
• Assist fellow employees in selling to ensure great business transactions and customer service

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of retail and/or sales experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Highly motivated and able to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Professional and gracious demeanor
• Ability to meet sales goals
• Excellent energy level and ability to maintain it for entire shift
• Dependable and presentable at work
• Ability to take directions well from supervisors and follow through
• Must pass background and credit check
• Must pass a basic math skills test

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus
• Physical mobility and ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
• Ability to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed
