About the role
The Retail Associate assists the store management team in achieving operational goals by performing various roles within the retail location. These roles include Cashier, Textiles or Wares Producer, Donation Door Attendant, eCommerce Producer, e-Books Producer, and Rack or Cart Runner.
Responsibilities
- Cashier: Rings up customer orders, maintains a balanced drawer, and follows all cash handling procedures and protocols. Provides general information about Goodwill programs and directs higher-level questions to associates or managers.
- Textiles or Wares Producer: Sorts product to identify quality and value, cleans as needed, and produces 100 items per hour for wares or 85 items per hour for textiles. Uses a pallet jack and conveyor belt.
- Donation Door Attendant: Accepts donations, maintains a clean and clear donation door, sorts products, and loads/unloads trucks. Loads and unloads trucks as needed and uses heavy equipment.
- ECommerce Producer: Develops an eye for identifying and securing items of value for ClickGoodwill, stays informed of market value, and properly tags and itemizes items. Packs and ships totes to meet the store budget.
- E-Books Producer: Scans books, decides on their disposition, prints inventory sheets, and packs, seals, and ships totes for ClickGoodwill. Manages a clean, organized, in-store sales-effective display.
- Rack and Cart Runner: Checks each rack/cart for quality and value, sizes, merchandises, and purges the sales floor, maintains a clean and orderly sales floor, and runs one rack/cart per 15 minutes.
Requirements
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with computers and relevant software.
- Communication Skills: Effective oral, written, visual, and listening communication skills.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to develop and apply mathematical thinking to solve problems.
- Critical Thinking: Uses judgment and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions.
