About the role

This position involves providing and coordinating respiratory care services under the direction of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist. Responsibilities include observing, assessing, and monitoring patients' responses to limited respiratory services, developing, implementing, and modifying respiratory treatment plans, and performing non-clinical support tasks such as setting up and maintaining PAP therapy, oxygen, suction, and basic tracheostomy equipment.

Responsibilities

- Observing, assessing, and monitoring patients' responses to limited respiratory services. - Developing, implementing, and modifying respiratory treatment plans based on clinical pathways, referrals, and written, verbal, or telecommunicated orders from a physician. - Applying, operating, and managing PAP therapy. - Providing non-clinical support for oxygen, suction, basic tracheostomy setup with no oxygen, and the HFHS VAD support. - Reading and interpreting insurance documents, medical records, and written orders. - Charting in detail, both written and in applicable databases, ongoing patient care. - Coordinating and performing PAP set-ups, mask refits, pressure changes, and assisting with patient-owned equipment repair processing. - Performing basic respiratory procedures, including CPAP, BIPAP, and basic trach with no oxygen. - Providing appropriate deliveries, set-ups, and instructions as assigned to respiratory customers. - Providing a plan of service and plan of treatment to evaluate, assess, and meet the customer's needs, goals, and requirements. - Assisting Medical Equipment Technicians with oxygen concentrator maintenance service as needed. - Coordinating and performing quality assurance and maintenance services on respiratory therapy items as described in the maintenance reference manuals. - Delivering and instructing customers and caregivers on the proper and safe use of oxygen concentrators, liquid oxygen systems, cylinder oxygen systems, and respiratory items. - Instructing customers and caregivers on infection control procedures and being compliant with internal and external regulations. - Coordinating and completing all equipment maintenance management records as required by the company. - Obtaining all necessary prescriptions and Certificate of Medical Necessity forms required for internal and external policies and regulations and for billing to insurance companies. - Conducting or arranging in-services for staff relating to respiratory equipment services. - Gathering any needed customer or insurance information as required. - Filling out appropriate paperwork, including Plan of Care, order invoices, and maintaining computer databases as needed. - Performing service calls as needed, including assisting Medical Equipment Technicians with other DME deliveries when needed. - Providing customer service support as needed to address patient calls, questions, or orders, including triaging of trouble calls or equipment failures.

Requirements

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). - One year of durable medical equipment, hospital, or other relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. - Valid driver’s license and insurance with a good driving record. - Ability to pass a background check.

Flexible hours. Available for 24-hour on-call assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires a personal vehicle in good working condition for home visits.
