Position Overview
Burke is seeking a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Residential Assistant (RA) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. The RA plays a key role in providing daily supervision, active treatment support, and maintaining a safe, clean, and home-like environment while working collaboratively with other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist residents with daily living activities
- Provide active treatment training and support as scheduled
- Promote a positive, respectful, and home-like living environment
- Ensure the group home meets Life Safety and Health standards
- Complete required documentation, including activity notes, medication inventory records, active treatment documentation, and progress reports
- Collaborate with program staff and other professionals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience Preferred: Six (6) months of experience working in a direct care role
- Licenses & Certifications Required: Valid Texas driver's license
- Special Requirements: Ability to complete required training, including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and other assigned modules
- Physical Requirements: Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to drive a vehicle; hand and finger dexterity for documentation and daily tasks
