We provide a personalized, foundational, skills-based model that helps young adults pursue their individual life goals. We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and innovative Resident Advisor to join our New York City team and contribute to our goal of making a difference. dWELL Recovery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Resident Advisor to work the following shift: Mondays & Fridays from 12am - 8am The Resident Advisor will play an essential role in providing direct support to residents, helping them navigate individualized goals, daily routines, and life skills that promote recovery and independence. What You Will Do: Resident Support and Community Engagement Foster a safe, supportive, and respectful environment while building rapport with residents and maintaining clear professional boundariesProvide individualized skill-building support to help residents strengthen independence, daily living skills, and overall self-sufficiencyModel professionalism, healthy communication, and positive peer behavior while supporting onsite groups, community-building activities, and a connected recovery culture Daily Program Operations Support daily program structure by assisting with resident schedules, wake-ups, check-ins/check-outs, escorts, pharmacy pickups, appointments, and offsite engagementsTrack resident participation in clinical, community, and program activities while supporting accountability with chores, routines, and household expectationsSupport new resident admissions, orientations, and transitions while communicating relevant updates, concerns, and resident needs to program leadership and team members Safety, Structure, and Compliance Support resident safety and program compliance by administering drug screens, BAC testing, room checks, building sweeps, and contraband monitoring in alignment with program protocolsFollow medication support procedures, report concerns or non-compliance promptly, and respond calmly to crises using established protocolsComplete required resident care documentation, including shift reports, UA reports, chore reports, and other program documentation Facility Readiness and Team Support Conduct regular house walkthroughs to help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and tour-ready environmentSupport program readiness by maintaining supplies, assisting with apartment resets, room setup, move-ins, and admissions preparationCommunicate inventory needs proactively and help track supplies to prevent interruptions in daily operations or programmingAdapt to shifting program needs by supporting the team during crises, busy periods, staffing shortages, meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development Additional Overnight Resident Advisor Responsibilities, When Applicable: Monitor overnight safety and structure by completing room checks, hallway walkthroughs, and resident support in alignment with program protocolsSecure resident electronics when indicated and provide wake-up support for residents What You Need to Qualify: Previous experience in a recovery, mental health, or behavioral health setting is preferredKnowledge of substance use, mental health conditions, and/or peer recovery supportStrong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build rapportExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort navigating sensitive situationsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentWillingness to work evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays as neededValid driver’s license and ability to pass background checksCPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain) Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20–40 lbs occasionallyAbility to stand, walk, or respond quickly during emergenciesAbility to walk multiple levels of stairs multiple times dailyMust be able to complete facility rounds and inspections Schedule: Mondays & Fridays from 12am - 8am Compensation: Hourly rate is $20/hour for standard shifts and $23/hour for overnight shifts Dwell is an equal opportunity employer.
