Part-Time Research Assistant- Lowry Weed Ecology Lab
Job Description And Position Requirements
The College of Agriculture is seeking applicants for a part-time research assistant opening. We are recruiting research assistants for the Lowry Weed Ecology Lab to assist with experiments in both the field and greenhouse.
- Collection and processing of plant and soil samples
- Data collection
- Data entry
- Set up and maintenance of experiments
Research projects will address key questions within weed ecology, such as:
- How do management practices influence weed seed mortality in the soil?
- How do diverse crop communities influence weed communities and weed suppression?
- How can we enhance the efficacy of ecologically based weed management practices?
Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies
Applicant must be able to work weekdays the entire summer
- A driver's license is required (but personal vehicle NOT required)
- Must be willing to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors
- Must be organized, able to work independently as well as within a group, demonstrate attention to details, and ability to follow instructions
Schedule
20 hours/week
Pay
The starting rate for this job is $16.00/hour

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
