Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. The role is administered by Nurse Managers and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice.

Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions

• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation)
• Provides relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics
• Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care through effective interdisciplinary communication methods
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
• Participates and supports performance improvement activities, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care
• Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education
• Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff/students for all disciplines
• Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing
• Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources

Required Minimum Education and Experience

• Associate's Degree in nursing or Graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing
• Minimum 5 years of completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours
• Minimum 5 years of direct patient care experience
