About the role

The Registered Nurse at MediLodge plays a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and providing comprehensive nursing care for residents. They also lead team conferences, assess and document resident conditions, assign care to support staff, and ensure the smooth operation of the nursing unit.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and leads team conferences in developing individualized nursing care plans.
  • Accurately and promptly implements physicians' orders.
  • Schedules and directs nursing staff, including LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.
  • Administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments for assigned residents.
  • Documents treatments according to company, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinates nursing care during therapy or procedure sessions from other departments.
  • Interviews applicants and recommends hiring decisions.
  • Supervises and directs the nursing staff, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures economic use of supplies and proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Reports and documents pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
  • Communicates effectively with residents and their families, as well as all levels of the organization.
  • Works cooperatively as a member of a team and reacts decisively in emergency situations.
  • Skilled in training clinical staff and using training techniques.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN school.
  • Valid RN license in the state employed.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
