About the Role

The Clinical Dietitian assesses patients, develops personalized nutrition care plans, monitors therapy effectiveness, and provides education to patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient dietary needs and review medical orders
  • Create and implement individualized medical nutrition therapy plans, including specialized support like enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Collaborate with food service to ensure diet compliance and evaluate food quality
  • Calculate nutritional requirements and manage diet restrictions and drug interactions
  • Conduct nutritional assessments, document care plans, and monitor patient progress
  • Provide nutritional education tailored to patient learning needs
  • Adjust therapy based on patient response and compliance
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and rounds
  • Serve as a resource for medical and nursing staff and oversee clinical support team activities
  • Evaluate food service quality and ensure adherence to dietary prescriptions
  • Perform other duties including staff orientation and tray line procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics or nutrition
  • 1-2 years healthcare experience
  • Current state licensure/registration and active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Knowledge of enteral feeding, nutritional calculations, and patient confidentiality

  • Ability to interpret policies, provide patient education, and collaborate effectively
