Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. We are hiring a Part-Time Registered Behavior Technician in Dumont, New Jersey to work in homes, schools, and community settings with children, adolescents, and adults, using best practices to teach critical skills for a meaningful and independent life. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing individualized behavior interventions in multiple settings. All required training is provided for those new to the field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through evidence-based and data-driven methodologies, including trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports.
  • Model and implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan to assist participants with acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing behavioral, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.
  • Provide timely and structured written feedback to clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies.
  • Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with the participant’s support network regarding recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan.
  • Collect data on progress and collaborate to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization.
  • Prepare progress reports for the participant’s team as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports.
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks.

Pay

$25/hour, based on experience (14 hours weekly).
