Part-Time Recreation Specialist - Athletics

Responsibilities

Makes rounds to assess facility usage and conditions.

Checks concessions.

Performs administrative tasks.

Supervision

• Oversees adult athletic leagues including Softball, Basketball, Flag Football, Kickball, Ultimate Frisbee, Cornhole, Volleyball, Pickleball, Golf, and Spikeball.
• Supervises leagues games and coordinates with officials and scorekeepers.
• Keeps score, monitors games, oversees league rules, submits game scores, and facilitates setup and teardown for league games.
• Works with rentals and tournament directors at the Al Bishop Complex.
• Opens and closes facility during league games and tournaments.
• Affords administrative support for special events, community programs, recreation centers, tennis centers, aquatic centers, and other PARKS units as needed.

Essential Functions

• Provides information or assistance regarding services, activities, forms, procedures, fees, or other issues.
• Processes participant registrations, court reservations, tournament registrations, and other scheduled services and events.
• Prepares daily financial reports and deposits.
• Promotes recreational programming and events.
• Provides administrative support.
• Organizes, instructs, and supervises assigned recreational activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in customer service.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Physical Abilities

• Exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work.
• Extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
• Communicate orally.

Environmental Factors

• No exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
