• Part-time, up to 25 hours per week
• Available shifts:
  • Monday–Friday, 2:00 AM–7:00 AM
  • Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–11:15 AM
  • Monday–Friday, 11:15 AM–3:15 PM
  • Monday–Friday, 3:15 PM–7:15 PM
• Flexible schedule may be offered after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals

About the role

Join Fastenal’s distribution center as a Part-Time Receiving team member. You will facilitate the movement of product by verifying incoming inventory, preparing it for the next department, and ensuring accuracy and quality. This entry-level position is based at our Akron, OH distribution center.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Unload product and inspect orders for accuracy, reporting discrepancies
• Inspect product for quality and accuracy
• Use a scale for weighing product
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
• Comply with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participate in activities and programs supporting company health, safety, and sustainability objectives
• Complete and practice various environmental health and safety trainings

Requirements

• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service-oriented
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
• Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 lbs, up to 100 lbs
• Pass a required drug screen (applicable in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Guam only)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience operating a forklift
