About the role
Implement treatment plans, provide patient education, and assist with exercises to enhance patient well-being in home care settings.
Responsibilities
- Follow state-specific laws and supervise physical therapy procedures as directed by the supervising PT.
- Instruct and assist patients with exercises, gait, transfers, activities of daily living (ADLs), and safety training.
- Monitor, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members within scope of practice.
- Adapt to diverse home environments and patient needs.
Requirements
- Current license, registration, or certification to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the state.
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or reliable transportation.
- Availability for weekend rotations.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR certification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring.
