Position Overview

The Comedy/Experiential Assistant assists in planning, administrative tasks, and running Comedy and Experiential programming.

Responsibilities

  • Send contracts, check requests, and performer waivers, tracking final receipt and filing.
  • Manage Comedy Shows, interacting with volunteers and performers professionally.
  • Maintain class and show schedules and venue locations in Reserve and Outlook.
  • Maintain student database in Raisers Edge.
  • Create and aggregate show promotion materials for Improv House Teams, collaborating with ArtsQuest Marketing, Public Relations, and Creative departments.
  • Schedule and attend all Comedy Committee meetings, maintaining meeting agendas and notes in SharePoint, and communicating them to committee members.
  • Auxiliary with Vendor outreach through phone calls and electronic methods, creating contracts, obtaining insurance certificates, and ensuring signed documents.
  • Lead event raffles and bingos, including requesting cash float, printing signage and tickets, collecting prizes, and providing financial information to the Finance team.
  • Collaborate with the Creative department for experiential events, including signing requests and adhering to Small Games of Chance and Bingo rules and regulations.
  • Research for new experiential opportunities at current events and new events.

Requirements

  • Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Previous work experience in comedy and/or theater industry.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite programs, and excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with guests, clients, and team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical school training or an associate/bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and stand/walk frequently.
  • Good hearing and listening skills, as well as visual and manual dexterity.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel between buildings, for off-site meetings and events, and work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions.
