About the role

As a Program Manager, you will drive the mission by ensuring safety and joy standards are met while supporting a team of staff members. You will maintain operational efficiency, outline attendance protocols, behavior policies, and safety procedures, and ensure program tasks are completed effectively. This role involves continual coaching, fostering respectful relationships among staff, and addressing challenges promptly to maintain team cohesion and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit role model qualities to ensure safety and joy standards are met by the team.
  • Support operational efficiency by keeping site documents and licensing standards up to date.
  • Outline and enforce attendance protocols, behavior policies, and safety procedures.
  • Provide continual coaching and address team challenges to maintain cohesion and productivity.
  • Consistently support and report on safety protocols to ensure participant well-being.
  • Identify and submit proof of potential risks within the program environment.
  • Engage meaningfully with families, client partners, peers, and children to build effective communication and relationships.
  • Respond promptly to emails, text messages, and inquiries during program hours.
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Area Manager to support program goals and implement changes.
  • Maintain accurate records for student check-ins and check-outs, ensuring "name to face" attendance procedures are followed.
  • Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum in a safe and engaging environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED completed.
  • Experience working with children and knowledge of unique and special needs.
  • Coursework or training in child development and/or related field.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, and visual) with adults and children.
  • Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.
  • Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn.
  • 18+ years of age.

Qualifications

New Jersey State Requirements:

  • Ability to meet state-specific requirements, including:
    • First Aid and CPR (in-person).
    • Cleared tuberculosis test.
    • Short & Long Term Disability.
    • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
  • AND one of the following:
    • 6 hours training (in child care) and 3 hours (in child program management).
    • Certificate as a Recreation Technician from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) AND 6 hours training (in child care) AND 3 hours (in child program management) AND 2 years experience.
    • Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate; Group Teacher Approval; or 15 college credits in child development, education, recreation, psychology, health care, nursing, or any other field related to child growth and development AND 6 hours training (in child care) AND 3 hours (in child program management) AND 2 years experience.
    • 15 college credits in areas not related to children AND 6 hours (in child care) AND 3 hours (in child program management) AND 3 years experience.
    • Associate's Degree in any field AND 6 hours (in child care) AND 3 hours (in child program management) AND 2 years experience.
    • Bachelor's Degree in a child-related field; or Office of Licensing Head Teacher Approval AND 3 hours training (in child program management) AND 1 year experience.
    • Certificate as a Recreation Administrator, Recreation Supervisor, or Recreation Professional AND 3 hours training (in child program management) AND 1 year experience.
    • Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field AND 6 hours training (in child care) AND 3 hours (in child program management) AND 1 year experience.
    • School Age Program Supervisor endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals, Professional Impact New Jersey.
  • *Training requirement must be completed within 9 months of being approved as Program Supervisor by the OOL.

Pay

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 8:25 AM and 2:50 PM - 6:00 PM.
