Part Time Porter
About the role
The Facilities & Maintenance team at Lifestyle Communities (LC) is seeking a talented individual to enhance the resident and community experience in a values-based manner reflective of our purpose. In this role, you will oversee the facilities and maintenance operations at one of our luxury apartment communities, while leading a team of direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and sparkles units prior to resident move-ins and assists with trash collection.
- Picks up debris in the hallways of buildings, around buildings, inside parking garages, corridors, elevator lobbies, and amenity spaces.
- Cleans restrooms, common areas, and leasing office as designated by Community Manager.
- Vacuums and mops hallways, corridors, and stairwells.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and orders supplies when necessary, and in conjunction with the maintenance team.
- Aids with minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, paint touch-up, etc. as requested.
- Ensures that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner, including unlocked/inoperable doors, slip hazards, etc.
- Aids with picking up dog waste on site in conjunction with the maintenance team.
- Aids with walking amenity spaces after hours to ensure they are not being used past designated times, as applicable.
- Responds to after-hours noise complaints and lockouts, as applicable.
- Walks the building and checks all doors and windows to ensure security of the building.
Requirements
- High school degree
- Previous porter experience is preferred but not required.
- This position requires strong attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the interest and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Hold a valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to operate company equipment, including but not limited to golf carts and maintenance vehicles.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have significant mobility (walking, climbing, stooping), manual dexterity (using tools, operating equipment, fine motor skills), and strength (lifting up to 50 lbs., sometimes more with assistance), often in varied environments with potential exposure to noise, chemicals, and temperature extremes, requiring stamina, good vision, and occasional long periods of standing/walking.
The employee may be exposed to an office environment with their primary exposure being on project work/sites.
