Part Time - Plant Science - Research Support Assistant (Charlie White)
Job Description and Position Requirements:
The Department of Plant Science seeks to hire a dependable and self-motivated person interested in the role of soil fertility and nutrient management in cropping systems. The research will focus on nutrient cycling in cropping systems, soil health, cover crops, and water quality.
Job Duties
- Work with faculty, staff, and graduate students to learn field and laboratory techniques for quantifying soil nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, and plant sampling techniques in cover and cash crops.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Outdoor work in settings such as corn and soybean fields, along with laboratory tasks.
- Operation of a motor vehicle as part of job duties.
- A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
