Part-Time Physician for MAT Clinic

About the role

MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a part-time physician dedicated to helping patients in their recovery journey. The primary function includes admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment, covering absences for the Medical Director, obtaining histories and physical exams, documenting in the EMR, and consistently monitoring patient dosages.

Responsibilities

• Admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment
• Covering absences for the Medical Director during vacations, addiction meetings, and personal absences
• Obtaining a history and physical exam
• Documenting in the EMR, entering orders for methadone dosing, or writing a buprenorphine prescription
• Mentoring Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners
• Consulting on high-risk patients and conducting annual medication reviews

Qualifications

• Boarded Certified or Eligible in Addiction Medicine or any residency
• Licensed in the state of Alabama
• Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment is preferred
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
• Able to interact compassionately with a diverse population
