Part-Time Pharmacy Intern

Onco360 Pharmacy is a unique oncology pharmacy model serving community, oncology, and hematology physicians, patients, payers, and manufacturers.

About the role

This is an onsite, part-time position working less than 30 hours per week with flexible hours and days available.

Pay

$24.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on completed years of pharmacy school.

Responsibilities

• Helps health care providers and patients by greeting by phone; answering questions and requests.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating and ordering needed medications and supplies.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Performs prescription activities in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities, adjudicating claims, and resolving any rejections including prior authorization.
• Packages and organizes daily prescription orders.
• Assists patients with co-payments and financial assistance programs.
• Provides counseling regarding Celgene REMS program.
• Assists pharmacist with dispensing.
• Communicates with patients and physician office staff to coordinate medication refill deliveries.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in Pharmacy studies at an accredited university.
• Valid Pharmacy Intern license/permit for the state of Arizona.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, brand and generic names of medications, and general pharmacy terminology.

Skills

Desired: 2+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
