Part-Time Personal Care Specialist

About the role

The Personal Care Specialist is a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, working under a licensed nurse to plan, implement, and evaluate personal care and safety for participants both at the site and in the community.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care, meals, and activities, including 1:1 feedings and following dietary restrictions.
• Supporting medical needs by assisting with specimen collection, vital signs, oxygen monitoring, and reporting changes to the primary nurse.
• Providing transportation for medical appointments and maintaining cleanliness and supplies in exam and common areas.
• Performing transfers, vital signs, and participating in special projects and therapeutic activities.
• Adhering to policies, completing required trainings, maintaining CPR certification, and passing fit testing where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with HHA certification or similar.
• At least one year of experience working with geriatric populations.
• Strong communication skills, ability to relate to elders, and perform vital signs and transfers.
• Effective teamwork, positive attitude, and intermediate computer skills preferred.
• Ability to travel locally as needed and comply with vaccination policies preferred.

Pay

$22-$25 hourly wage.
