About the role
Part-Time Weekend Peer Recovery Specialist at a drop-in center, supporting individuals in recovery from addiction and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in developing social skills, self-care, and self-awareness to promote recovery and wellness.
- Educate, empower, and support clients in establishing a stable recovery support system.
- Model effective coping techniques, problem-solving strategies, and self-help methods.
- Help clients articulate personal recovery goals and teach techniques to overcome fears and negative self-talk.
- Complete wellness plans and make appropriate referrals to external agencies.
- Support clients in identifying and achieving their recovery objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Peer Recovery Supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with 2 or fewer points.
- Must be a peer with at least 2 years of recovery experience from addiction or mental health.
- Preferred: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or ability to obtain certification within a year.
Schedule
Weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., totaling 10 hours weekly.
